Swallowed Whole
As I sit in the woods my entire body begins to pulse,
every colour floods into my eyes,
I can no longer see.
Trapped in a holographic world filled with nothing but things.
Pretty things,
everywhere I look.
I stand behind a thick glass wall and watch myself.
She fills every inch of space with things,
beautiful,
beautiful things that make her feel so good;
until they don’t anymore,
so she gets more stuff.
She fills me up until I can no longer breathe.
I try to scream “NO STOP”,
but she keeps going;
so many things that they take over my whole being.
I can’t find myself anymore,
I’m completely shattered into a million pieces
and mixed into the mass of superficial gratification that continues to grow from within,
until I’m completely gone;
buried in the things.
